Field Studies
Leaving behind your new family and friends in Buenos Aires will be hard, but after three weeks, it will be time to catch a flight to San Carlos de Bariloche. There you put your newly acquired language and ICC skills into practice while navigating the Andes. You'll start out at one of Argentina's best known ski resorts, Cerro Catedral, home of great tree skiing and predictably good powder conditions. You'll then road trip north to Villa La Angostura, soaking in amazing views while traveling through Argentina's Seven Lakes area. Each day you'll be accompanied by professional ski guides who will ensure safety and the secret powder stashes.
Invigorated by your afternoons on the slopes, your group will convene to focus on your ICC learning and to engage in valuable reflection and discussion that will guide the final component of the program. This most crucial component of your field-work will be an Independent Study Project (ISP) supervised by your ICC professor that incorporates process modules, reflection journaling, one-on-one contact with locals, more language acquisition and a final presentation on how your ICC training has honed your interactive cultural skills. This project is your opportunity to personalize your ICC training and bringing it to bear on a subject which interests you.
