Affiliate Program
Affiliate Partnership Goals
For over 20 years Intrax has partnered with colleges and universities in order to enable students of all academic disciplines to engage with the world, gain intercultural competence and contribute to our global society. With Intrax's new Affiliate Program, our goal is to further deepen our existing partnerships as well as establish new affiliations by offering a wide range of exciting benefits designed to benefit the student.
Affiliate Partnership Benefits
Intrax's Affiliate Program allows Intrax Study Abroad to become an additional study abroad resource for your office while also offering your students scholarships and special services. Affiliation benefits include: student scholarships; innovative program opportunities that are designed to complement, not compete, with your existing study abroad opportunities; discounted professional development opportunities for faculty and study abroad advisors; and extensive safety and liability coverage.
Why an Affiliation?
- Scholarships
- Intrax Study Abroad believes strongly that all institutional partnerships benefit students. We offer a scholarship program with the ultimate goal of making it more possible for today's diverse student population to have an enriching academic experience abroad. Affiliate schools are eligible for winter and summer-term scholarships which will be awarded and distributed to students by the affiliate study abroad staff. Intrax Scholarships may be applied to any future study abroad program.
- International Site Visits
- A site visit gives faculty and administrators the chance to see Intrax Study Abroad programs for themselves in order to better advise their students. Visits last about five days and give staff a chance to:
- Meet with our on-site staff
- Tour academic facilities and talk with local professors
- Sit in on classes (when available)
- Talk with current participants
- Participate in cultural learning workshops and activities
- Visit with homestay families and evaluate group housing
- Tour the community where the group will be living, working and studying
- Credit and Program Approval
- Intrax Study Abroad academic programs are challenging, rewarding and comprehensive. We take pride in the quality and academic integrity of our programs, and will help in any way possible to facilitate course approval for students. Upon request we will provide:
- Course descriptions
- Service project descriptions
- Syllabi & contact hours
- Site visit opportunities
- Professional Development
- Affiliation will have first priority enrollment and discounted program cost opportunities on Intrax Study Abroad's annual International Development Seminar. We feel it is just as important to provide faculty and advisors a forum for cultural exploration and professional and personal growth as it is for our students.
What Intrax asks of Affiliates
In keeping with Intrax Study Abroad's mission of expanding quality study abroad opportunities of utmost academic rigor, authentic cultural engagement and adventure travel for students, we request that our affiliates work with us to make their campuses aware of Intrax Study Abroad programs and facilitate credit and financial aid transfer. We ask our affiliates to:
- Display Promotional Materials
- Make available Intrax Study Abroad promotional material to students, display Intrax Study Abroad posters and brochures where appropriate on campus, and add a link on the institution's website.
- Advise Students
- Since Intrax works very hard to ensure our affiliates are familiar with the academic and logistical details of our programs, we ask that study abroad advisors work with their students in making informed decisions when selecting an Intrax program.
- Facilitate Credit Transfer
- Assist students in transferring academic credit from classes taken on Intrax Study Abroad study abroad programs.
- Process Financial Aid
- For eligible students who wish to study abroad on an Intrax Study Abroad program, facilitate, when possible, the transfer of financial aid.
- Support Visits
- Help with arrangements for Intrax Study Abroad representatives who wish to meet with prospective students, faculty and/or study abroad administrators. This includes involvement in study abroad fairs, classroom/office visits or tables on campus, when appropriate.
- Approve Programs
- You may choose to provide students access to all our programs, or only affiliate around selected countries, cities or programs.
If you are interested in becoming an Intrax Study Abroad affiliate, please contact Lorien Liptack, Academic Relations Manager at 800.777.7766 ext. 514 or lliptack@studytheworld.com.
